While spring is almost here, most of us are still curling up at home with a hot cup of tea, and some delicious brunch food. Standard brunch items like pancakes, scrambled eggs, and eggs benedict are delicious but it’s time to add something new: chicken and waffles.

Chicken and waffles are considered both a brunch food and a comfort food. The waffles drenched in butter and syrup are delicious, and when they are combined with crispy fried chicken they essentially melt in your mouth. If that’s not reason enough to make these, then here’s one more—they’re easy to make!

How To Make Them

To make chicken and waffles you will need to mix up some waffle batter and cook them in a waffle iron. If you want to make this process quicker, you can purchase pre-made waffles that just need to be toasted. Choose Belgian style waffles, as those make the best base for your fried chicken.

Fried chicken is also pretty simple to make, you just need to batter the chicken and stick it in a deep fryer. If you want to avoid using the deep fryer, you can purchase fried chicken. However, we do suggest making at least one of the components for waffles and chicken at home.
