Everything You Need For a Fall Charcuterie Board

A lot of us are staying in this season, which is why it’s nice to look forward to a wine and cheese night. Charcuterie boards are slightly fancier than your average cheese plate, and a fall one is very easy to put together. Here’s what you need for a classic fall charcuterie board.

Cheese

The trick to making a charcuterie board truly delectable is to use a few different kinds of cheese. You always need a soft cheese, a hard cheese, a semi-soft cheese, and a blue cheese. To put a seasonal twist on this, a goat’s cheese with cinnamon and cranberries is a good choice, and baked brie with honey and walnuts is also a tasty addition.

Meat

No charcuterie board is complete without some tasty meat. Typically, an assortment of salamis, hams, and other smoked meat makes the perfect add-on to your cheese and crackers.

Seasonal Fruit, Spreads, and Crackers

You don’t want to throw the meat, cheese spreads, and crackers or bread haphazardly on the wooden platter. Charcuterie boards are meant to be visually pleasing, and that means a well-organized board. Place the cheese on the board, with meat, crackers, and pieces of sliced bread artfully mixed between them. You can then add small pots of cranberry jam and habanero jelly as some fancy sides. Dried or pickled fruits and veggies should be strewn amongst everything, for that Instagram ready look.
