Freeze Your Own Fruit This Summer!

While fresh fruit is always a delicious treat to have, especially when it’s in season, sometimes you can’t always have access to fresh seasonal fruit. So, if you are someone who loves to chow down on different fruit dishes, you should freeze your own fruit this summer!

Freezing your own fruit is better because you can control when you buy the product, which means it’ll be in its best and tastiest when you use it later out of season. The best way to freeze most fruits is to cut it up if it’s a large fruit, or leave it whole if they are small, and put them on a cookie sheet. Then, pop them in the freezer for a few hours and transfer them to a freezer bag.

Some fruits to look out for this summer:

Nectarines

Peaches

Strawberries

Blueberries

Grapes

Cherries

Once you have frozen your fruit, in fall or winter you can use them in a variety of ways. You can make a simple smoothie in the morning or smoothie bowl with add-ins. You can make fruit compotes and jams, or even eat them frozen as a treat.

Another great use for your frozen fruit is by using them instead of ice cubes in drinks!
