How Much Ice Cream Should You Eat Per Week?

Many nutritionists and dietitians will be the first to tell you that you shouldn’t completely go cold turkey. Some of the best experts will try to help you maintain your favorite foods whilst also striving towards a healthier overall intake. Ice cream, for example, is one of the hardest things to give up. So if you don’t want to say goodbye to ice cream completely, how often should you be allowed to eat it?

Frequency

Ultimately, there really is to one right answer, because everyone is different. However, if ice cream is really “your thing”, then you can go for it about once a week. Set aside a day each week as your “ice cream day” where you get to indulge in your favorite flavor, your favorite cone, your favorite topping, the whole works!

Portion Control

However, this also brings us to our next point: portion control. It really does depend how much you’re eating per sitting. If you’re only grabbing a couple bites at a time in passing, you can probably do it a few times throughout the week. But if you’re engaging in an all-out ice cream extravaganza, then maybe even once a week might be too much. One scoop or two scoops of ice cream a week seems to be the golden ratio, though.
