How to Make French Gratin Dauphinois

This classic French cuisine is always a success. With just a few minutes of work, you will enjoy a warm and creamy side dish that goes well with any kind of red meat or even just as a main dish with a small green salad.

Ingredients:

  • 1 kilogram of potatoes
  • 150 grams grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 finely chopped garlic cloves
  • 3/4 cup of milk
  • 25 grams sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions:

  1. Peel the potatoes and slice them into very fine slices. Peel the garlic cloves.
  2. Preheat the oven to 410 F.
  3. Layer the potatoes in a baking tray and season each layer with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  4. In a bowl, mix the sour cream, garlic, and milk, and then pour the mixture on the potatoes.
  5. Sprinkle the parmesan cheese evenly on top of the potatoes.
  6. Bake for 50 minutes. Enjoy.
