Mac and Cheese is one of the most beloved dishes no matter your age. Cheese and pasta come together in the best way, and it is hard to imagine a better pair. Although this divine dish does not have a good reputation for being healthy, there are ways to make this dish a little more guilt-free. Here are some easy ways to let you enjoy mac and cheese with ease.

Peas

Adding frozen peas to mac and cheese is a great way to get your vegetables in while not compromising on the taste! Peas add a great pop of color, and they are small enough that if you are making shells they will just fit on in there.

Roasted Broccoli

Broccoli can have a bad rap, but it is actually so delicious in mac and cheese! If you are putting the mac in the oven anyway, why not add a few small florets while you’re at it.

Vegan Mac

Taking the cheese out of the mac is the best way to really keep this a healthy meal. For the sauce, blend boiled potato, carrot, cashews, nutritional yeast, and spices. Pour over the hot pasta and you truly won’t taste the difference.
