These are the Best Flapjacks to Make This Winter

Flapjacks are a delicious and healthy snack to enjoy this winter. They’re super easy to make and you can change them up to suit your preferences. Here’s a recipe for the best flapjacks you can enjoy this winter.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of oats
  • 1 cup dried fruits (raisins or apricots work well)
  • 1 cup of chopped nuts
  • 1/2 a cup of shredded coconut
  • 1/2 a cup of unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup of honey (can also use maple syrup)
  • 1/4 cup of brown sugar
  • A dash of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground ginger
  • Pinch of nutmeg
  • Salt

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine your oats with your dried fruits, nuts, and coconut, making sure to mix it well.
  2. In a saucepan, melt your butter on a medium heat. Add honey or your maple syrup, and add your brown sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and salt. Keeping stirring until the sugar is dissolved and your mixture is all well combined.
  3. Combine your wet and dry ingredients until everything is coated. Then, transfer your mixture into a baking tray lined with baking paper, and press it down until you have an even layer.
  4. Bake in your oven on a medium heat for 20-25 minutes.
  5. Finally, allow your flapjacks to cool in the baking tray for about 10 minutes, and cut into your preferred shapes before serving.
