Most people who are trying to keep their veggies fresh for a prolonged period of time tend to put them inside a freezer, but these five vegetables won’t reap the benefits of being stored that way.
Tomatoes
The tricky thing about freezing tomatoes is that they’re mostly composed of water. Water-rich foods don’t act well when frozen and tend to get mushy along the way.
Cucumbers
Cucumbers are another vegetable with high water content, but that’s not the only reason why you shouldn’t freeze them. They’ll also lose the crunchy texture that makes them so delicious.
Leafy Greens
Lettuce, spinach, and other leafy greens also have an extremely high water content, and you shouldn’t freeze them unless you want to deal with a soggy mess afterward.
Celery
It’s pretty much a waste of space to put your celery inside a freezer since it can survive in your fridge drawer for quite some time.
Potatoes
Potatoes are another veggie that will only take up space in your freezer for no reason. Your pantry is a much better-suited storage option in their case.
