Three Flavored Butters You Have to Try

Butter is great, but flavored butter is even better. Infusing butter with the flavor of herbs, sugars, or other foods can enhance the butter and make it the ideal starter alongside some good bread. Check out these recipes for flavored butters, all of which are easy and simple to make at home.

Bacon Flavored Butter

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter
  • 4 rashers of bacon
  • 1 teaspoon of maple syrup

Instructions:

  1. In a pan, heat the butter and bacon together. Stir to encourage the bacon juices to melt into the butter.
  2. Once the butter has completely melted, add the maple syrup. Cook until the bacon is cooked, then remove the bacon from the pan.
  3. Cut the bacon into very small pieces and stir back into the butter. Decant into a jar and place it in the fridge to set before serving.

Rosemary And Sage Butter

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup of salted butter
  • 2 sprigs of fresh rosemary and 4 sage leaves
  • 1 teaspoon of ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat the butter in the pan, as it melts add the rosemary, sage and pepper.
  2. Reduce the heat, allow the herbs to cook for 5 – 10 minutes (but don’t let them burn).
  3. Remove the herbs from the butter, decant the butter into a jar and place into the fridge to set.

Cinnamon and Sugar Butter

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup of caster sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Heat the butter in a pan, as it melts stir in the sugar.
  2. Once the sugar has dissolved, add the cinnamon. Cook on a low heat for 5 minutes.
  3. Remove from the heat and decant the butter into a jar to store in the fridge.
