There are all sorts of peppers around the globe. Peppers can have very sophisticated flavor profiles, even those that are incredibly spicy. Next time you want to add some peppers to your plate, follow this guide to decide what’s right for you.

Shishito Pepper

This pepper is native to East Asia. It’s a sweet pepper that can be used in Asian dishes or added to any regular protein. An easy way to prepare is to slightly char it in a pan and top it with lemon juice and salt.

Haberno Pepper

The habanero pepper is a very hot pepper used in Latin and Indian cuisines. To down the intensity of the pepper, it’s best to take out the seeds before you start cooking with them. Use habaneros pepper to add a punch to tacos, or use it in a lamb curry to kick it up a notch.

Poblano Pepper

The poblano pepper is a mild pepper from Mexico. It also called an ancho pepper when it is dried. There are many ways to use this type of pepper, but first, you must char and remove the skin. You can then stuff it with meat or make it into chile relleno.
